YouTube is expanding its creator shopping tools in India by leveraging new AI-powered features. As part of the platform’s affiliate marketing program, YouTube Shopping has also added more partners ahead of the festive season.
The platform announced the expansion of its shopping affiliate program in India to include Amazon. Ajio, Meesho, Snapdeal, and Tata CLiQ have also joined the ranks of existing partners Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Purplle, Shopsy, and Tira.
YouTube Shopping launched in India in October 2024, enabling creators in the YouTube Partner Program to recommend products within their content—including long-form videos, Shorts, and live streams. Through the program, creators can earn commissions on each sale.
The platform noted that this expansion coincides with a significant surge in revenue generated by Indian creators through shopping-related activities. Between the first quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, the average affiliate marketing revenue for Indian creators grew by over 160% year-over-year, outpacing the platform’s global growth rate of 100%. According to YouTube data, more than 450 million users in India search for shopping-related content, and watch time for shopping-related videos in the country has increased by 55% compared to the previous year.
