vivo recently launched the V80 Lite smartphone in Malaysia, with its standout feature being a massive 10,000mAh battery. The company is now preparing to launch the same device in India under a new name. Previous reports suggested the phone would be branded as the vivo S2 FE in India; however, another device with similar specifications has now appeared on the Google Play Console. Listed as the vivo Y600 5G, its hardware configuration reportedly closely mirrors that of the vivo V80 Lite.
vivo Y600 5G Listed on Google Play Console
According to a report by TheTechOutlook, an unreleased smartphone with the model number V2626 has appeared on the Google Play Console. Smartphones listed on this platform typically launch within one or two months, suggesting this device will hit the market soon.
The device is designated as the “Y600 5G,” indicating it belongs to vivo’s Y600 series. vivo has previously released the Y600 Turbo and Y600i models in China. The report also suggests that the vivo Y600 5G could be a rebranded version of the vivo V80 Lite, which was recently launched in Malaysia.
According to information from the Google Play Console, the vivo Y600 5G may be powered by the MT6858 SoC, also known as the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chip. The Dimensity 7100 features an octa-core architecture comprising four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. However, reports suggest that the device will ultimately likely feature the Dimensity 7300e chip (found in the vivo V80 Lite), which shares the same clock speeds as the Dimensity 7100.
The vivo Y600 5G is also equipped with 6GB of RAM. It is reported to run vivo’s proprietary OriginOS, based on Android 16. The data also indicates that this upcoming vivo model may feature a screen resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels with a pixel density of 440 ppi. No further hardware details regarding the smartphone were revealed.
The vivo V80 Lite is also set to launch in the Indian market as the vivo S2 FE, serving as an entry-level variant of the vivo S2. Previous reports indicated that the vivo S2 FE, in its 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration, would be priced at ₹39,999. The device is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e octa-core processor and feature a 50-megapixel main camera. Additionally, the vivo S2 FE supports IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings and is equipped with a large 10,000mAh battery.
